Explore Golf & Ski Communities

How do you decide which community is the best choice for your situation? Every community lays claim to being your best choice and each has good reasons for that claim. We believe your priorities and interests are the key to that puzzle. To us, the truly important questions concern your needs. We often say that Park City is where dreams come true, but what are those dreams? If you are a soon-to-be-retired CEO who loves golf and fly fishing, your dreams are probably not those of a young tech entrepreneur with two kids who play hockey and want to go to Stanford someday. Working together with you, we can look beyond the competing advertising claims to determine which community best fits your objectives.

Gated Golf/Ski Communities

These are communities where memberships are available allowing access to a broad selection of amenities. With the exception of Glenwild, property ownership is required to be eligible for membership. At Glenwild, membership can be purchased by non owners when available. The initial and ongoing costs of membership including membership fee recapture upon sale differ significantly from one community to the next. Talisker Club full membership provides a full combination of golf and ski amenities, while Promontory focuses on golf, but does have some ski related amenities. Other recreational activities are offered at different levels as a part of membership offerings. For example, Red Ledges has a Cliff Drysdale Tennis School, Promontory has equestrian facilities, and Victory Ranch features world class fly fishing on a private section on the upper Provo River.

When you share your personal preferences with us as to recreational activities, including children’s activities, we can be of great assistance in comparing the membership details and costs that lead to the best fit for your lifestyle. Balancing membership benefits with location and built product differences allows you to make your first purchase or move up decision a smart decision.

Gated Golf/Ski Communities include:

Promontory The Ranch Club

This 7000 acre, 10 square mile gated community features golf at the Pete Dye Canyon Course and the Jack Nicklaus Painted Valley Course with future courses laid out by Tom Weiskopf and other leading designers. In addition to golf, members enjoy the members only Alpine Lodge at Deer Valley, the Equestrian Center and family recreation at the Outfitters Cabin, the “Kids Only” Kinninnick Cabin, and the Shed.

This 2000 acre site 9 miles east of Park City features 675 home sites and is part of the Talisker Club, where full membership includes a 1600 acre ski community in Deer Valley. Tuhaye features an 18 hole Mark O’Meara designed golf course, tennis, pool and spa, and fitness facilities.

Victory Ranch

Located 17 miles east of Park City, this 6700 acre community features a Rees Jones-designed championship golf course and 4 miles of private blue-ribbon fly fishing on the upper Provo River.

Red Ledges

This 2000 acre mountain golf community in the Heber Valley features an 18 hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Course and a 9 hole Nicklaus Design Short Course. Other amenities include a Cliff Drysdale Tennis Academy and a Jim McLean Golf School. A swim and fitness Club and equestrian facilities are additional family oriented amenities.

This fully developed 195 home site community is minutes from Park City and features an 18 hole Tom Fazio golf course which is a past recipient of “Best Course in Utah” by Golf Digest. The 39,000 SF clubhouse and spa offers fine dining, fitness facilities that include a year-round swimming pool, and an outdoor play area for children.

Other Golf/Ski Communities:

Park Meadows Country Club

Since 1983, Park Meadows Country Club has been the only in-town golf and social club in Park City. The club features a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course and a fitness center and swimming pool. Since this is not a gated community and has no related real estate development, it is a popular alternative for a wide variety of Park City area residents. We selected as the Park Meadows Country Club  neighborhood the close- by properties (an easy bike ride to the club house) where many existing members live.

Jeremy Ranch and Country Club

Established in 1981, the Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay designed 18 hole golf course is 17 minutes from Park City and 25 minutes from Salt Lake City. The club offers private equity golf memberships and social memberships. This is not a gated community and has no related real estate development.

The Deer Crest Club At The St. Regis

This exclusive social club offers non- owners use of the amenities at the St. Regis Deer Valley. The Deer Crest Club welcomes locals, second home owners and regular visitors and has no property ownership requirements. We have arbitrarily selected ski-to/ski-from Deer Valley property not eligible for Talisker Club membership as our Deer Crest Club community. This definition omits many fine Deer Valley properties, but don’t worry – we have extensive experience in all Deer Valley neighborhoods.

The Talisker Club

The Talisker Club includes exclusive access and elegant facilities at the Deer Valley Resort as well as golf and tennis at Tuhaye. Talisker Club membership requires property ownership in one of Talisker’s three distinct neighborhoods – Tuhaye, Empire Pass, and Red Cloud. Members enjoy many other activities on over 10,000 acres, including world class spas and dining.

Although the Colony and a number of significant projects in the Canyons Resort area are not connected by a club experience, they represent an important ski community with major ongoing changes based on new management by Vail Resorts.

Membership in these clubs is not related to property ownership and amenities usually associated with Golf Country Clubs are featured. If the costs and requirements associated with the private, gated communities don’t fit your location requirements, these clubs present an interesting alternative. Since project boundaries don’t come into play, we have identified neighborhood boundaries that embrace the Golf/Ski lifestyle. For example, the Park Meadows Country Club with its Jack Nicklaus designed golf course is a social centerpiece of the popular Park Meadows neighborhood. From a different viewpoint, the Colony is a high-end ski-to, ski-from community whose residents often belong to one or more clubs that offer amenities other than skiing. As a further illustration, if you are someone who only wants a historic home in old town, but has a passion for golf, we can make that dream come true.
