About Us

Joe Trabaccone

I was born in Philadelphia and attended Miami Dade Junior College in Miami where I was a member of the 1969 national Junior College gymnastic team. Following that, I earned a BS degree from Southern Connecticut University in New Haven, where I was a member of the 1972 national  gymnastic team. After moving back to Philadelphia, I studied real estate investment and appraisal at Temple University Real Estate Institute.

My fascination with all things real estate, especially renovation and historic preservation, led me out of a budding career as a high school teacher in 1975. I went on to become a partner in Landmark Investment Group. After a successful career in restoring and investing in old buildings and selling the finished product, my wife Marilyn (who had achieved her own success in the banking world) decided to trade our big city existence for the lifestyle we had long dreamed of. In 1997 we packed up the moving truck and, accompanied by our golden retriever Rudy, headed west. Our love of skiing, golf, and wide open spaces led us to Park City – some research skill was involved and much luck. We immediately launched our Park City real estate careers – me in sales and Marilyn in office management. My interest in golf/ski communities grew until it has become my main focus. I have built and sold many homes in those communities and I particularly enjoy working with builders and marketing high end single family homes.

I have been fortunate to share my passion for our outstanding golf/ski communities with my partner Darrick Olsen and to have my wife Marilyn now actively involved in our team, taking over the Trabaccone portion of TrabacconeOlsen. My favorite office location, depending on the season, is either the first tee or first tracks. I enjoy sharing our unique marketing program with new friends.

I am a second generation local and a graduate of Park City High School. I am a graduate of the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following college graduation, I pursued post graduate studies in London. These studies included an internship with Sotheby’s in London followed by participation and consulting in the art business. As a past board member of the Kimball Art Center and activities with Utah art societies and the University of Utah Museum of Fine Arts, I enjoy sharing my interest in the arts with many of my clients.

My wife Vanette and I have four sons – high school age to post college (medical school). With family participation in football, basketball, lacrosse, rugby, golf, fencing and skiing and 18 years of volunteer coaching experience at all levels, I know the local opportunities available for youth sports. Many other community, school and recreational activities have given my wife and I broad experience and connections to the volunteer network that does so much for our community’s quality of life. This has been a major benefit for my clients who are new arrivals to Park City, especially those with active children.

After being a partner in Scandia Construction with my brother Tom, I began my real estate career in 1997. I have enjoyed great success in helping clients in farm and ranch properties, developers with entitlements, water problems, and planning for major projects and as a project listing agent. My focus for the past several years has been golf/ski communities. I’ve watched these communities grow up here in good times and not so good times and I’m excited for what I believe is a very bright future. Together with my partner Joe Trabaccone and our top-notch support team, we pride ourselves on providing unique services for buyers and sellers. Our services are based on in-depth product knowledge and the ability to impartially compare the strengths and weaknesses of competing communities. Our goal is to always pursue the best fit for buyers. Sellers can benefit from our unique marketing program that puts their property in the best possible light and achieves maximum exposure.
